The annual knockout tournament is open to all paid up members of the society.  It takes the form of a Matchplay competition. thee is no entry fee for this competition and prizes for the winner are awarded at the end of the playing season. 

 

Format and Rules

 

The Committee organises the Competition which will be set up on the Squabbit App.
Draws are made at each phase of the competition to determine the matches.

Players use their latest handicaps as indicated on their Squabbit profile.
The lowest handicap player reverts to scratch and gives their opponent 3/4 of the differential between their handicaps in shots - with the calculation being done on the Competitors' then current Playing Handicaps for the course actually being played.

The winner is the player who wins by 1 or more holes over 18 holes. Drawn matches should be replayed unless another format is agreed by the players.

Should a player not be able to play by the cut off period the other player will be the default winner.    
Players are responsible for organising their own matches, and the loser of each match should send the result to the Secretary by email or What's App.

Preliminary & 1st Round matches should be completed by the end of May. 
Quarter-Final matches should be played by the end of July and Semi-Final matches by the end of August.

The Final is to be played in September prior to the End of Season Awards Dinner.
